No updates from Prabhas' Kalki 2898-AD this Maha Shivaratri

Prabhas-Deepika Padukone’s Kalki 2898-AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, is gearing up for a grand release on 9 May 2024.

The film is now in the post-production stage with the teams trying to wrap up everything before the scheduled release.

As the release date is nearing, the Rebel Star’s fans are awaiting updates from the makers.

Speculations were rife that the makers of Kalki 2898-AD might release an update on 8 March, on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri.

However, the latest reports suggest that there won’t be any update.

The team opted to extend the timeline for initiating promotional activities for the film, with all official announcements slated to be exclusively communicated through their social media platforms.

Earlier, in an interview, Nag Ashwin said Kalki 2898-AD was a product of his love for the stories of Mahabharata and Star Wars.

“I had this idea and the story just came along. I grew up listening to/watching Mahabharata and Star Wars. Making a film that combines both these worlds felt ideal. And thus, Kalki 2898-AD was born,” the filmmaker said.

Joining Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in this star-studded venture are industry stalwarts Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan, alongside Disha Patani, Rajendra Prasad, and Anna Ben.

Kalki 2898-AD team is leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to turn the film into a visual extravaganza.

With a star-studded cast and a palpable buzz surrounding it, industry insiders predict that the movie will make waves at the box office on a pan-India scale.

Producer Ashwini Dutt of Vyjayanthi Films mounted the project with a staggering ₹800 crore.
