Jeethu Joseph's Nunakuzhi starts rolling

Malayalam Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph’s new movie Nunakuzhi, headlined by actor-director Basil Joseph, went on floors on Monday, 6 November.

Going by its title poster, which was released some time back, Nunakuzhi is touted to be a comedy entertainer. The tagline of the film reads: “Liar’s Day out.” The poster also had a directorial signpost with some Malayalam adages and popular movie dialogues written on it.

The cast includes Grace Antony, Siddique, Manoj K Jayan, Baiju Santhosh, Saiju Kurup, and Aju Varghese.

The script is penned by KR Krishna Kumar, who worked with Jeethu Joseph in Kooman (2022) and 12th Man (2022). Both films were received well by the audience.

The cinematography of Nunakuzhi is by Satheesh Kurup, who collaborated with Jeethu Joseph several times.

Vinayak VS is the editor and Linta Jeethu is the costume designer.

The film is produced by Vintage Films in association with Yoodlee Films.

It would be interesting to see how Nunakuzhi comes out as Jeethu Joseph is doing a comedy movie after some time. His previous works — Life of Josutty (2015) and Mr and Mrs Rowdy (2018), both comedy dramas — were average flicks.

Basil Joseph is working with Jeethu Joseph for the first time in Nunakuzhi. Basil has been impressing the audience with his acting skills, especially in comedy roles.

He also did exceptionally well in Kadina Kadoramee Andakadaham (2023), Joji (2021), and Nna Thaan Case Kodu where he played serious roles.

Jeethu Joseph’s next

Jeethu Joseph’s next is Mohanlal’s Neru, a courtroom drama which is slated for release on 21 December. His other project RAM with Mohanlal is also in the pipeline.

The COVID-19 pandemic created several issues for RAM, which was meant to be shot in international locations. South Indian actress Trisha is the female lead in this movie.

Meanwhile, speculations were rife, some time ago, that the Hindi and Malayalam versions of Drishyam 3 would be shot together and released on the same date across India. However, Jeethu Joseph told South First that it was fake news.
