Naveen Polishetty greeting his fans

Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty — isn’t the title as quirky as Naveen Polishetty himself?

Apparently, the clamour and the craze surrounding the film look as violent as a storm ready to get unleashed for destruction.

The man behind it is again Polishetty — touring small towns in the Telugu States, flying off to influence the US market — ahead of the release date (7 September).

Naveen is someone who doesn’t believe in the routine PR strategy in Telugu cinema.

He bypassed the set rules of the film-publicity campaign when he walked freely onto the stage introducing himself at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad while promoting his debut movie Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya (2019). The session was a massive hit at the end of the day.

What gives him the edge

Undeniably, Naveen Polishetty boasts more fan base than the “regular heroes” of Tollywood. He has developed a knack for wooing audiences with his humour, more than his style and mannerisms.

His presentation and marketing skills on the stage are as “pro” as a corporate professional. He doesn’t boast a great physique yet he bags female fans in good numbers.

The Bhojpuri accent in AIB (All India Bakchod) videos and the Hyderabadi Deccani that he speaks now and then gives him the edge.

Naveen Polishetty didn’t spend a lifetime thinking about how to make it big. But the humour that he saw in the hurdles he faced in tough times made him stand apart.

Sucess streak after Jathi Ratnalu

Post the success of Jathi Ratnalu (2021), the actor shouldered the responsibility to continue the streak of success by selecting stories with good humour.

“If a story keeps recurring in your mind even after a few weeks, it means it has the magic to hold your attention. That’s exactly what happened when director Mahesh narrated his story to me,” Naveen Polishetty during a press meet the other day.

“A story of a standup comedian and an unmarried woman in her 30s played by Anushka Shetty. And a non-stop comedy between the two characters. It has emotions and humour in equal doses,” he added.
