Actor Mehreen Pirzada Spark Life

After entertaining Telugu audiences with her mannerism — “Honey is the Best” — in Anil Ravipudi’s directorial F2 (2019), actress Mehreen Pirzada is all set to strike a chord with fans this time with a romantic actioner Spark Life.

Ahead of the theatrical release of Spark Life on 17 November, Mehreen Pirzada spoke to the media about her role in the film and her experience working with newbie Vikranth.

Spark Life is directed by Vikranth, who also plays the protagonist in the film and produced it under the banner of Deaf Frog Productions.

The movie casts Mehreen Pirzada and Rukshar Dhillon as leading ladies.

Nassar and Suhasini Maniratnam play crucial roles.

About her role

Q. How was your character designed in Spark Life?

A. Every individual has a few dreams to achieve in life. Like everyone who wishes to fulfil his/her dream, I, too, want to turn my dreams a reality.

My character, Lekha, also wants to achieve her dreams. That is the reason why I connected to her in Spark Life.

Every film is a special one for me. I usually do a film only if I like the script and my role. I believe this helps me in building my career.

Audiences are my inspiration. As an actress, I give my 200 percent to the characters I play.

Q. What is the basic theme of the movie?

A. Director and my co-star Vikranth wrote the story inspired by a few real-life incidents in the US. Spark Life is a thriller with a mix of commercial elements.

Q. What is the role of music in Spark Life?

A. The singles in this movie are perfect and connect well with film lovers. I did not expect such great work. Of course, Hesham Abdul Wahab is popular in Malayalam and now in Telugu.

All the songs composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab came out quite well. I also like the music that he scored for Kushi (2023).

On working with Vikranth

Q. You climbed up the ladder as a star heroine in Tollywood. How do you feel working with a relatively new actor like Vikranth?

A. I debuted as a female lead in 2016 in the Telugu film Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha. If Nani — already a star then — did not give a chance to a newbie like me, I would be nobody now.

Someone should offer a chance to newcomers. If not me today, there will be someone who will render a helping hand tomorrow.

Vikranth is an NRI who settled in America. But he came to India out of a passion for movies.

Initially, it was planned to rope in a different director. But for various reasons, Vikranth helmed the film.

It is a challenging task to act and direct a movie simultaneously. But Vikranth worked hard and completed the project on time without any glitches.

Q. Has your character in Spark Life dominated Vikranth’s?

A. The whole story starts with my character Lekha. The hero enters the plot later. In the end, the film comes to a close with my character.

Q. Will your character Lekha in Spark Life match your earlier role “Mahalakshmi Honey” in F2 (2019) and F3 (2022)?

A. In fact, both characters have mannerisms. The audience will not expect such unique characters. But my character Lekha has a “spark” in her.

Q. Are there any films you have missed in your seven-year film career?

A. After Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha, I signed six projects. At that time, I got an offer from team Tholiprema (2018).

Having been busy with too many projects, I had to miss it and a few other good scripts.
