Tamil film star Dhanush, who shot to fame in the Hindi heartland with director Anand L Rai’s blockbuster film Raanjhanaa, announced on Wednesday, 21 June, that he has once again joined hands with the director for yet another Hindi film.

The film is titled Tere Ishk Mein, which — interestingly — is likely to be from the world of Raanjhanaa.

In a statement issued by the star on the occasion of Raanjhanaa completing 10 years, Dhanush said, “Ten years of ‘Raanjhanaa’. Some films change your life forever and it’s apt to say this is one such film. Indeed, it changed all our lives.”

Thanking everyone for making Raanjhanaa a classic, the actor said, “Now, after a decade… a story from the world of Raanjhanaa, Tere Ishk Mein. I don’t know what kind of journey awaits me, but I am sure it’s gonna be an adventure — for us and you all.”

Needless to say, the announcement triggered a cascade of excitement among fans.

Adding to the excitement is the fact that Oscar-winner AR Rahman, who scored the music for Raanjhanaa as well, will compose music for this one as well.

The technical aspects

The story and screenplay for the new film, which will hit theatres next year, will be by Himanshu Sharma and Neeraj Yadav.

Vishal Sinha will be the cinematographer of this film, which will have stunts choreographed by Sham Kaushal.

While Dhanush played the role of Kundan in Raanjhanaa, he is to play a character named Shankar in this upcoming film.

The film unit also released a title announcement video on the occasion.

The video gives the strong impression that Tere Ishk Mein could well be a second instalment of the Raanjhanaa franchise.
