Post the humongous success of the Tamil film Jailer, wherein Kannada star actor Dr Shiva Rajkumar made an impressive cameo appearance, he is now set to make a similar but extended appearance in his second Tamil venture Captain Miller starring Dhanush in the lead.

Shiva Rajkumar, widely referred to as “Shivanna” by his fans, had on multiple occasions shared that he is a big fan of Dhanush’s works. This is one of the reasons why Shiva Rajkumar took up Captain Miller in the first place.

With just a week left for the much-awaited film to hit the screens, the makers of Captain Miller held a pre-release event in Chennai on Wednesday, 3 January.

At the event, Dhanush heaped praise on the Kannada actor.

The Tamil actor said, “During various events and interviews, you (Shivanna) keep saying that you are my fan. I am humbled by your words. I am reassured that I am on the right path.”

He added: “As you just spoke on stage with a smile, I could discern the essence of your father (Legendary Kannada actor Dr Rajkumar) and brother (late Dr Puneeth Rajkumar) in that expression—belonging to all three of you. Your ability to uphold your father’s legacy is something one can truly learn. I hope my children, who are present here, draw inspiration from your example.”

Post his cameo in Jailer, Dr Shiva Rajkumar became a favourite for Tamil audiences.

Born in Madras (now Chennai), Shiva Rajkumar, spent his early days in the city. Having completed his graduation from Madras University in 1983, he enrolled in an acting school in Chennai.

Before entering the Kannada film industry with Anand (1986), he honed his skills in the Kuchipudi dance form during his college days.

Dhanush also addressed hate mongers who exist in small groups on the occasion, saying he hoped that everyone would enjoy Captain Miller, which is an action-packed film with larger-than-life action sequences.
