Baahubali Crown of Blood animated series is on the anvil

Some movies are devoid of shelf life. However, the Baahubali franchise is a masterpiece that defied the expiry date and elevated the Telugu film industry to the global stage.

That was the phase when “pan-India” became widely popular.

Director SS Rajamouli’s visual masterpiece in dual parts entertained audiences more than they wanted.

Later, fans wanted a sequel or prequel focusing on Sivagami’s backstory.

Netflix attempted this earlier, but production was halted because of poor planning and execution.

And now, Baahubali: Crown of Blood animated series is one the anvil.

SS Rajamouli is supervising the making and other works. He also confirmed that the trailer would be released soon.

That means the characters that were originally part of the Baahubali films Prabhas, Ramya Krishna, Rana Daggubati, and Anushka Shetty will be featured in the animated series.

It will be interesting to see the reaction of Baahubali fans. If the animated series becomes successful, we might witness graphic series for other films like Pushpa (2021 and 2024), Kantara (2022), KGF (2018 and 2022), and Vishwambhara (2023) in future.

Baahubali: Crown of Blood animated series will be streamed soon on Disney+ Hotstar.

Telugu actor Vishnu Manchu anticipated the animated series trend and released a comic book for his upcoming movie Kannappa.

He gave away the first volume of the comic book series free of cost to a select few on social media.

Such innovative approaches might see good growth, especially for movies with massive investments.
