Vishnu Manchu to launch first volume of comic book on Kannappa

Telugu actor Vishnu Manchu has sprung yet another surprise for his fans and film buffs. Now busy with the most ambitious pan-India film Kannappa, Vishnu is launching the first volume of a comic book on Kannappa.

Kannappa is a legendary figure in Telugu folklore and is associated with the famous Srikalahasti Temple in Andhra Pradesh.

Vishnu Manchu announced the news in an Instagram post on Saturday, 16 March.

In a video, the actor disclosed that people from various states, especially North India, are enquiring about Kannappa as they are unaware of the history.

Since it would be tough for him to answer all questions individually, Vishnu said he would launch the first volume of a comic book on Kannappa on 19 March.

“This will be a limited edition collectable. It is a storybook. I grew up on Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle comics…. and I wanted to make a book similar to those.”

He added, “On 19th March, my hero’s birthday – my father’s (Mohan Babu) birthday, I will launch the Kannappa storybook. There will be a few more volumes. Whoever wants to know about Kannappa can DM me their address and details on my Instagram. My office will send you the book free of charge.”

Vishnu Manchu also thanked everyone for their love and blessings showered on the first look of Kannappa.
