How these average Indians succeed in overcoming the problems created by societal norms and circumstances forms an interesting watch.

Food Festival

Pooja Reddy (Madonna Sebastian) is a foodie who relishes non-vegetarian dishes. But her marriage to Rajiv (Tharun Bhaskar) whose family is a strict vegetarian, forces her to turn vegan.

Life gets complicated for Pooja when a doctor asks her to consume eggs and healthy food since she is weak. Rajiv does not allow Pooja to have eggs even after the doctor’s suggestion.

This seemingly simple problem turns into a complex situation for Pooja. How she responds to the restrictions put by her husband and mother-in-law, is depicted in the “Food Festival” episode.

Narrated simply, this 34-minute episode highlights the repercussions of controlling the food habits of people by those in power.

Helmet Head

Giri (Phani Acharya) is a 32-year-old bachelor who works as a marketing representative in a real estate company.

With a bald head and unimpressive body language, he leads a dejected life. While his boss is completely pissed off at his performance, the only person who cares for his future is his aunty (Sudha).

She is worried that Giri is not getting matches due to his bald head and makes all efforts to get matches for him.

On the other side, Giri wants to undergo hair transplantation but does not have money. His life gets worse as he loses his job.

Which way the lives of these hapless people go makes for a heart-touching viewing.

Phani Acharya has done a good job as an ageing unmarried youth facing societal pressures.

Senior actor Sudha wins hearts in this episode.

Afternoon Nap

Radha (Bindu Madhavi) is a lower-middle-class homemaker who is used to making compromises in life.

While she desires to change their rented house which has become unbearable to live in, her husband’s (Ravindra Vijay) financial limitations make it a distant dream.

Making life more unbearable for Radha, the house owners create loud noises thereby disturbing her afternoon naps when she relaxes after a day’s hard work. This causes her severe migraine.

What action an angry Radha takes is the crux of this episode.

While the ending appears unrealistic, this is the episode that audiences will relate to the most, among all in Anger Tales. All those middle-class people staying in rented homes will easily relate to Radha’s pain and anger.

Bindu Madhavi got a good role after a long time and she has done it well. Ravindra Vijay also did a good job as a middle-class employee struggling to make ends meet.

Benefit Show

“Benefit Show”, the 40-minute episode, is the longest and also the best among all in Anger Tales.

Ranga (Venkatesh Maha) is an ardent fan of a Tollywood star. He plans to screen a benefit show of the latest release of his favourite hero.

Considering it to be a prestigious achievement, he even sells each ticket for a whopping ₹1,200. However, a crisis ensues as the benefit show gets delayed. Consequently, Ranga faces highly tense situations and braves an unruly crowd before screening the benefit show.

In the end, all this risk only turns into anger. On whom did Ranga vent his anger and how did he express it is the main plot of this episode.

“Benefit Show” is an engaging episode and Venkatesh Maha has done a commendable job.

Suhas appears in a negative role and does his part perfectly. This episode serves as a lesson for over-enthusiastic fans of stars.

Verdict

In all, Anger Tales is a sensible web series that subtly highlights the anger of a common man in our society.

It also highlights how the weak and poor are side-lined. The web series appears slow and generate a short film kind of vibes in some instances. But it is watchable for its honesty in story-telling.
