The conventional female glamour in Telugu cinema seems to be witnessing a slow transition.

An essential ingredient in big-budget films, the glamour factor in a few mid-scale movie films has just remained an allure and romance.

Tamannaah Bhatia

Tamannaah Bhatia would test her luck with two major films this season — Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer and Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar.

She has witnessed a dry run at the Telugu box office for three years. Though Anil Ravipudi’s directorial F3 and Satyadev Dev-starrer Gurthunda Seethakalam tried to hold their own, the films failed to bring Tamannaah the success that she anticipated.

Now, Tamannaah has pinned all her hopes on Jailer (releasing on 10 August) and Bhola Shankar (releasing on 11 August).

Sreeleela

The new sensation in Tollywood, Sreeleela is giving her contemporaries a run for their money. This dancing sensation from Karnataka captured the market, thereby leaving no space for other big female stars.

Irrespective of the scale of the movie, Sreeleela is the most sought-after female star in the industry at present. She has four films lined up for release in the next five months.

Vaishnav Tej-starrer Adikeshava is releasing in August.

Starring Ram Pothineni and Sreeleela in the lead, Skanda is another big film, scheduled for September.

Then she plays the love interest of Balakrishna in Balwanth Kesari. And the last would probably be Extra starring Nithin.

Let’s see how these movies work for her!

Keerthy Suresh

Keerthy Suresh stands out from the rest. The actress is off to a great start this year with Nani-starrer Dasara.

Later, she appeared in the Telugu dubbed version (Nayakudu) of Maamannan starring Udhaynidhi Stalin and Vadivelu. The film was loved by Tamil audiences.

However, the Telugu version managed to win the critics’ hearts but subsequently got washed away in the stream of flicks at the box office.

Keerthy also has a big film in her kitty — Bhola Shankar — where she plays the sister of Chiranjeevi.

Shruti Haasan

This year, Shruti Haasan delivered two blockbusters at the Telugu box office — Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya (which collected a whopping ₹100 crore).

Now, she is busy with Rebel Star Prabhas’ Salaar. It is the first pan-Indian flick in her career.

The Gabbar Singh-actress will next appear in a special role in Hai Nanna starring Nani and Mrunal Thakur. It is expected to hit the screens on 21 December.

Neha Shetty

Neha Shetty is another glam doll who stole the hearts of Telugu film lovers with her character Radhika in DJ Tillu. Her dialogues became so widely popular that fans started doing reels on social media.

Now, Neha has a couple of interesting projects in Telugu. She plays the love interest of Karthikeya in the upcoming movie Bedurulanka 2012 which is expected to hit the marquee in September.

In Rules Ranjan, she will be seen alongside Kiran Abbavaram. The film is in the last leg of shooting.

Fans hope that the actor would continue to entertain them with her quirky roles in more projects.

Ruhani Sharma

Ruhani Sharma has earned a special name for herself. Her recent-police investigative thriller Her: Chapter 1 garnered praise from both critics and audiences.

After making a mark with her character in Rahu Ravindran’s directorial Chi La Sow, she made a splash with an extended cameo in Dirty Hari.

She followed it up with Hit: The First Case, a commendable work.

Now, she has a big project coming her way. She is being featured in Venkatesh Daggubati’s Saindhav which is expected to be released in December this year.
