Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Aadujeevitam is all set for release in theatres on 10 April. It is one of the much-awaited Malayalam movies of the year.
Directed by Blessy, the film is inspired by writer Benyamin’s novel of the same name. The writer says he cannot wait to see the movie on the silver screen.
In a video released by the film crew, Benyamin says he got the idea for the novel “Aadujeevitham” quite a long time ago.
The video also shows glimpses of the shooting in Jordan.

In the video, Benyamin, an expatriate, recalls that he wanted to write a novel set against the backdrop of the Gulf. It was around this time that he met the real-life Najeeb.
The writer toyed with the idea of penning a story with “one man and one God”. He said it is one of the first forms of goat life.
It took him about a year and a half to befriend Najeeb and understand his story. During their conversations, Benyamin learned about Najeeb’s travel experiences and decided to write a novel about him.
The author says he could not have asked for more when he learnt about his novel being made into a film.
Though director Blessy started the preparations for this film in 2008, the production began only in 2018.
Aadujeevitham had one of the longest shooting periods in Malayalam cinema, and the shoot was finally completed on 14 July 2023.
The major portions of the movie were shot in Jordan.
