Jayaram’s Abraham Ozler is the first superhit Malayalam movie of 2024, which collected a gross of ₹40 crore worldwide during its theatrical run.
Upon its release, the movie evoked a good response from critics and audiences.
Abraham Ozler also turned out to be the most successful Malayalam film in the career of actor Jayaram, who played the titular role.
The extended cameo role of Malayalam superstar Mammootty also helped the film pull crowds to theatres.
It is helmed by director Midhun Manuel Thomas.
According to the Sacnik tracking website, the flick collected about ₹21 crore gross from the domestic marker.
It will be streaming on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar on 20 March.
Even though Vinay Forrt’s Aattam (2024) was released with a good response, the movie had a limited audience and wasn’t a mass masala entertainer.
After Abraham Ozler, Premalu, Bramayugam, and Manjummel Boys collected more than ₹50 crore. The films are now marching towards the ₹100-crore club.
Abraham Ozler is written by Dr Randhir Krishnan.
It is a medical investigation thriller with an ensemble cast, including Jagadeesh, Anaswara Rajan, and Senthil Rajamani.
