The Cabinet authorised the APCRDA Commissioner to undertake the Land Pooling Scheme at the request of farmers.
Synopsis: The Cabinet authorised the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) Commissioner to undertake the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) at the request of farmers for the construction of the Errupalem–Namburu new broad-gauge railway line through Amaravati, along with a 100-metre buffer zone and the development of an Inner Ring Road (IRR), including expansion of grid roads from the Capital City boundary to the IRR.
The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved a proposal to acquire land through land pooling for a new broad-gauge railway line to provide railway connectivity to the state capital, Amaravati.
The Cabinet also approved several other key proposals at its meeting held on Thursday, 3 September.
The Cabinet authorised the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) Commissioner to undertake the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) at the request of farmers for the construction of the Errupalem–Namburu new broad-gauge railway line through Amaravati, along with a 100-metre buffer zone and the development of an Inner Ring Road (IRR), including expansion of grid roads from the Capital City boundary to the IRR.
For the railway line, the government approved pooling 6,212.50 acres — 974 acres in Kantheru village of the Guntur district and 5,238.50 acres in the Tadikonda mandal area.
The Cabinet approved a proposal to provide a conditional government guarantee of ₹950 crore in favour of Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) towards repayment of the medium-term loan availed by AP Transco.
A proposal to cancel the allocation of the 800 MW Avuku Pumped Storage Project that had been awarded to RVR Projects Private Limited was also approved.
Under the AP Integrated Clean Energy Policy–2024, the government permitted Ganeko Green Energy to interchange 28 MW of wind and solar power capacity from the 300 MW wind-solar project allocated in Kanekal and Bommanahal mandals of the Anantapur district. The project had been allocated 180 MW of wind capacity and 120 MW/172 MW DC of solar capacity.

The AP Cabinet approved Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited’s request to consider the NHPC methodology for calculating price variation in works related to the Polavaram Hydro Electric Project.
The Cabinet permitted payment of ₹472.86 crore excluding GST, or ₹557.97 crore including GST, towards the price variation as per the NHPC methodology.

The Cabinet decided to extend permission to MARKFED to mobilise the funds required for implementing the support price for Totapuri mangoes during the 2026–27 marketing season through working capital or short-term loans.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal to provide ₹94 crore to MARKFED for direct cash transfer to tobacco farmers at ₹10 per kg as price-deficiency support for the procurement of 94 million kg of low-grade and poor-quality tobacco during the 2026 season.
The State Cabinet granted administrative approval for the construction of “Amaravati Sangamam” at Sakhamuru in Amaravati, comprising the Andhra Pradesh State Public Library, an auditorium and the Global Institute of Good Governance.
The project will be taken up at an estimated total cost of ₹759.793 crore.

The Andhra Pradesh Police Department currently operates around 10,500 vehicles for maintaining law and order, crime control, emergency response, VIP security, traffic management and anti-narcotics operations. Many of these vehicles have become unserviceable due to ageing and continuous use.
Since 2022, 2,556 vehicles have been identified as unfit and withdrawn from service. According to the norms of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, another 4,281 vehicles are expected to reach the end of their service life over the next five years. The shortage is significantly affecting police operations and emergency response services.
To address the shortage, the government has decided to procure 4,760 new police vehicles through the Andhra Pradesh State Police Housing Corporation Limited.
For this purpose, the state Cabinet approved a proposal to raise a ₹324.20 crore term loan from the SBI branch at Mangalagiri, backed by a government guarantee. The government will repay the loan in instalments.
