Tiger kills two of a family in Kodagu, residents stage protest over animal attacks

Residents of a village on the fringes of Nagarhole forest in Kodagu have been gripped by the fear of marauding tigers.

In less than 24 hours, 75-year-old Raju and his grandson Chetan (18) were mauled to death in separate incidents.

Chetan’s father who was also injured in the incident has been hospitalised. Residents have been demanding more safeguards from the marauding animals.

Forest Department officials have set up teams to track the tiger.
