A foreign couple paid ₹30 lakh to Hyderabad’s Universal Srushti Fertility Centre, trusting Dr. Pachipalli Namratha’s promises of a legitimate surrogacy. But a routine DNA test for the baby’s passport exposed the unthinkable: The newborn they had been raising wasn’t their biological child.
What followed was the unraveling of one of India’s biggest fertility frauds, as the Enforcement Directorate raided nine locations in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam.
