Members of the Moodanambike Virodhi Okkuta on Tuesday, 25 October, organised an event to dispel superstitions and myths around the solar eclipse.

While many stayed indoors and some went without eating during the partial solar eclipse, rationalists distributed food, claiming there was no effect on humans if food is consumed during this period.

The Okkuta has been organising such events for the last 25 years, urging citizens not to be misled by superstitions.
