‘Op Elephant’: Marauding tusker of Kadaba captured days after it killed two persons

Forest Department teams managed to capture the marauding tusker that had killed two persons in the Kadaba region near Mangaluru.

‘Op Elephant’ was launched with a massive deployment of forest watchers, kavadigas and locals.

A team of trained elephants led by the majestic tusker Abhimanyu captured the wild pachyderm that was tracked using drones and satellite imagery along with field teams.

The wild tusker had reigned terror in the region and residents had staged a massive protest demanding action from the Forest department.

The captured elephant was subjected to a medical examination and translocated.
