Historically, the Mukulathor votes were more aligned with AIADMK than with DMK. Sasikala OPS and others were behind this, but after Sasikala and TTV were expelled from AIADMK, the AMMK, formed under TTV’s leadership, divided these votes.
Later, after OPS was also expelled, it became difficult for AIADMK in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu. In this situation, questions have arisen as to who will get the Mukulathor votes this time.
The AIADMK thinks that since the BJP’s Tamil Nadu leader, Nainar Nagendran, is from the Mukulathor community, the AIADMK can benefit from him. Is it the AIADMK-BJP alliance that would get the Mukulathor votes in 2026, or will it be TTV, OPS or DMK?
