Indigo passengers flying Bahrain to Mangaluru had a harrowing time as they reached their destination nearly 48 hours later.

Passengers recalling their ordeal said the flight was delayed in Bahrain citing a bird-hit.

The flight 6E1403 was rescheduled for 24 hours later.

Passengers claimed no accommodation facility was provided by the airlines. The following day, there was a further delay of two hours.

Indigo released a statement maintaining that its flight from Mumbai to Bahrain suffered a bird-hit on arrival.

Subsequently, all passengers were given accommodation and an option for full refund also made.

Grounded aircraft was released after thorough inspection as per protocol.

Indigo insisted passenger safety is paramount for the airlines.
