Farmers block Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway near Mandya demanding underpass

There were traffic jams for several kilometres on the busy Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway on Monday, 20 February, after farmers took out a protest near Mandya district.

Protestors blocked the expressway near Hankere village demanding an underpass for the movement of residents across the six-lane stretch.

Protesting farmers raised slogans and demanded NHAI alter its plan and provide the underpass.

Police resorted to lathicharge to quell the protesting crowd that had blocked traffic for a long time.
