EPS-OPS seat row in Tamil Nadu Assembly, police detain AIADMK cadres

AIADMK interim General Secretary Edappadi K Palanisamy and party workers on Wednesday, 19 October, held a protest in Chennai against DMK government and the Assembly Speaker.

EPS led cadres alleged the Speaker was acting at the behest of the DMK government and has refused to officially recognise its member, RB Udayakumar, as the Deputy Opposition leader.

The cadres claimed OPS was expelled from the party and the Speaker must rightfully accept Udayakumar in that post.

EPS also staged a walkout from the Assembly on Tuesday in protest of Speaker not changing seating arrangements. EPS refused to sit next to OPS.
