20 injured in stampede over sale of cricket match tickets in Secunderabad

Hyderabad City Police launched lathi-charge on the crowd gathered to buy tickets for the 3rd India-Australia T20 match scheduled on Sunday.

At least 20 were reportedly injured on Thursday, 22 September, in a stamepede at gymkhana grounds in Secunderabad of Telangana.

The crowd had gathered to buy tickets for the 3rd India-Australia T20 cricket match scheduled on 25 September. The queue is said to have started outside the ticket counters at 5 am.

The Hyderabad City Police resorted to lathi-charge after the crowd went out of control and seven have been admitted to the private hospital after the incident. Two still remain hospitalised.
