Of these 15 elected lawmakers, 11 are from the Congress alone, while three are from the BRS and one is from the BJP.

Telangana Assembly polls: 15 doctors become MLAs, after winning by significant margins

In a significant development, 15 medical doctors have been elected to the Telangana Assembly, each winning by a substantial margin.

Among these triumphant MLAs, four are distinguished general surgeons who currently juggle demanding schedules at various hospitals.

These medical experts are now gearing up to transition from operating rooms to address people’s issues and concerns within their respective constituencies.

From the Congress

Of the 15 elected doctors in the 30 November Telangana Assembly elections, whose results came out on Sunday, 3 December, 11 are from the Congress.

They include Jatoth Ram Chander Naik (MS General Surgery), who secured a victory in the Dornakal assembly constituency with a margin of 53,131 votes. He polled 1,15,587 votes, or 60.01 percent of the total votes registered.

Chikkudu Vamshi Krishna (MS General Surgery) won in Achampet by a margin of 49,326 votes. He polled 1,15,337 votes, or 58.96 percent of the total.

Murali Naik Bhukya (MS General Surgery) won in Mahabubabad by a margin of 50,171 votes. He polled a total of 1,16,644 votes, or 55.46 percent of the entire number of votes registered in the segment.

Kavvampally Satyanaraya (MS General Surgery) won from the Manakondur constituency by a margin of 32,365 votes, amassing a total of 96,773 votes (52.08 percent).

Dr R Bhoopathi Reddy (MS Orthopaedics) won by a margin of 21,963 votes, securing a total of 78378 votes in Nizamabad (Rural).

Dr Matta Ragamayee (MD Pulmonology) won by a margin of 19,440, securing a total of 1,11,245 votes in Sathupalli.

In Medak, Mynampally Rohith (MBBS) clinched the victory by a margin of 10,157 votes and a total of 87,126 votes (46.63 percent).

C Parnika Reddy (General Physician) secured victory in Narayanpet by a margin of 7,951 votes, garnering a total of 84,708 votes (46.31 percent).

In Narayankhed, P Sanjeeva Reddy (Paediatrician) triumphed by a margin of 6,547 votes and a total of 91,373 votes (47.09 percent).

Gaddam Vivekanand (MBBS) emerged as the winner in the Chennur assembly constituency by a margin of 37,515 votes and a total of 87,541 votes (57.51 percent).

Dr Kuchkulla Rajesh Reddy (MS Dental Surgery) won from Nagarkurnool by a margin of 5,248 votes securing 87,161 votes.

In BRS, BJP

From the BRS, three doctors achieved success. Kalvakuntla Sanjay, representing Koratla (Neurosurgeon) won by a margin of 10,305 votes, accumulating a total of 72,115 votes (39.28 percent).

Dr Sanjay secured victory in Jagtial by a margin of 15,822 votes and with a total of 70,243 votes (39.83 percent).

Dr Tellam Venkata Rao (MS Orthopaedics) won by a margin of 5,719 votes, securing a total of 53,252 votes in the Bhadrachalam constituency.

The BJP had one doctor — Palvai Harish Babu (MS Orthopaedics) — winning from the Sirpur constituency by a margin of 3,088 votes and with a total of 63,702 votes (34.09 percent).
