Congress has most 50k+ margin winners in Telangana Assembly elections; BRS only two

The biggest margins were posted by BRS minister Harish Rao and AIMIM's Akbaruddin Owaisi: 82,308 and 81,660, respectively

The incumbent BRS may have lost the Telangana Assembly election, but in terms of candidates’ performance, it tops the list with Finance Minister T Harish Rao in the outgoing Cabinet securing a majority of 82,308 votes in Siddipet.

Close on his heels was AIMIM candidate for Chandrayanguta Akbaruddin Owaisi, who won the seat with a majority of 81,660 votes. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao himself won Gajwel with a majority of 45,031.

In the Congress, those falling in the 50,000 and more votes’ majority bracket are:

  • K Prem Sagar Rao (Mancherial): 66,116
  • Makkan Singh Raj Thankur(Ramagundam): 56,794
  • Ch Vijaya Ramana Rao (Peddapally): 55,108
  • Kunduru Jayaveer (Nagarjuna Sagar): 55,849
  • Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy (Palair): 56,650
  • Koram Kanakaiah (Yellendu): 57,309
  • Gandra Satyanarayana Rao (Bhupalapalle): 52,699
  • N Padmavathi Reddy(Kodad): 58,172
  • Murali Naik Bhyukya (Mahabubabad): 50,171

BRS:

  • T Harish Rao (Siddipet): 82,308
  • Kotha Prabhakar Reddy (Dubbaka): 53,513

BJP:

  • Alleti Maheshwar Reddy (Nirmal): 50,703

AIMIM:’

  • Akbaruddin Owaisi (Chandrayangutta): 81,660
  • Mohammed Mubeen (Bahadurpura): 67,025
