Police said Srinivas had been staying at the Gokul Pride Hotel since September 9 under the fake identity Ganesh.
Police have intensified the search for a man from Vikarabad after his alleged partner was found dead in an OYO hotel room in SR Nagar on September 29, hours after he left the premises, telling staff that she would check out after breakfast.
The victim, B. Sirisha (34), and the accused, identified as A. Srinivas (38), reportedly submitted forged Aadhaar cards and false identity details while checking into the hotel in SR Nagar, said police.
According to police, the two had been in a relationship. Sirisha worked in a bank’s customer care wing and was a native of Nagasamudram in Vikarabad. Srinivas is a native of Obulapur in the same district. Sirisha was a divorcee.
Police said Srinivas had been staying at the Gokul Pride Hotel since September 9 under the fake identity Ganesh. On September 24, Sirisha checked into his room using the false name Durga.
Around 3:30 am on September 29, Srinivas reportedly left the hotel, telling the reception staff that Sirisha would check out in the morning after breakfast.
The hotel staff reportedly went to check on her, but Sirisha did not respond to the doorbell. When there was still no response by noon, the staff alerted the police.
Officers entered with a spare key and found her body on the bed, with bloodstains around it and a plate of food nearby.
Police suspect that the couple had an argument late in the night and Sirisha was struck with a heavy object. A murder case has been registered against Srinivas under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police have launched a search operation, with special teams sent to his native village and searches intensified at bus and railway stations.
The incident comes barely a week after a similar case in Madhapur. A 29-year-old woman from Visakhapatnam was allegedly killed by a man after the two checked into a private lodge in Siddiqui Nagar on September 21.
The accused attacked the victim, then took her to a local hospital before fleeing to his native village in Anakapalli. Medical personnel later declared her dead. The accused was later arrested by the Madhapur police.
