Three BRS MLCs resign after their election to the Telangana Assembly

Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Kadiam Srihari and Padi Kaushik Reddy met council chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy and submitted their resignation letters on Saturday.

Three BRS MLCs, Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Kadiam Srihari and Padi Kaushik Reddy, on Saturday, 9 December, resigned from the Telangana Legislative Council after they were elected to the state Assembly.

Their resignations have created three vacancies in the 40-member Upper House, where the Congress has only one MLC, T Jeevan Reddy.

Rajeshwar Reddy was elected to Assembly from Janagaon, Srihari from Station Ghanpur and Kaushik Reddy from Huzurabad.

All the three MLCs met council chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy and submitted their resignation letters. The election commission is required to conduct election to fill up the three vacancies within six months of the chairman notifying the vacancies.

Kaushik Reddy and Srihari were elected from MLAs quota to the Council in 2021. Palla Rajeshwar Reddy was elected to the council in 2015 from Nalgonda, Warangal, Khammam graduates’ constituency.
