The Telangana State Women’s Commission has asked the Director General of Police to order an investigation into BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s alleged derogatory comment against BRS MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntla, who is being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in New Delhi.

The ED is questioning Kavitha for her alleged role in the Delhi excise policy scam.

Taking suo motu cognizance of his comment, the Women’s Commission felt he had lowered the dignity of women. The panel said it would issue a notice to Sanjay, asking him to appear before it and explain why he had made such comments.

The BJP leader made the comment while lashing out at Kavitha in the Delhi excise policy scam.

Referring to the ED summoning her for questioning, he said that everyone is equal before the law, and then made the derogatory remark that was disrespectful to women.

“Let them not forget that it is the BRS which is going to come to power once again in Telangana,” she said.

Rathod sought to know Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soudararajan’s response to Sanjay’s comment. She also demanded that leaders of Sanjay’s ilk should be banished from politics, she said.
