Synopsis: 60 lakh will get notices on anomalies based on discrepancies in their name or their family member’s name, or any inconsistencies in age, etc.; 11 different types of anomalies have been identified. Meanwhile, 32 lakh electors have been identified as unmapped, those who couldn’t be linked to 2002 rolls.
Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C Sudharsan Reddy on Monday, 17 August, released the draft roll following the enumeration phase of the SIR process in Telangana. The rolls can be accessed on the CEO Telangana website.
Following the draft roll release, 92 lakh electors are set to receive notices across the state, said CEO.

73 lakh people were added to the ASDD (Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate) list. These names do not appear in the draft roll.
Booth-wise lists of Absent/Shifted/Death/Duplicate electors whose names are not included in the Draft Roll, has been displayed on the notice board of respective ERO/AERO Offices, Grama Panchayat/Municipal Office Notice Boards, Polling Stations to enable the general public to have access to the aforesaid voters lists along with the probable reasons for non-inclusion of their names. BLOs have also received the ASDD list. It will also be made available soon on the CEO website.
If any voter believes their vote was removed unfairly, or wants to make changes to their name, they can raise an objection. EROs (Electoral Registration Officers) have been given until 16 September 2026 to dispose of these claims.
The press release read: “In case any elector was unable to submit the duly filled-in Enumeration Form within the specified period (25.06.2026 to 10.08.2026), they may submit Form 6 along with the prescribed Declaration Form for inclusion during the claims and objections period. The claims and objections period also provides an opportunity to correct any discrepancies in electors’ particulars and to raise objections against any wrongful inclusion in the Draft Electoral Roll.”
Notice phase
According to the press release, the notice phase, during which, EROs and AEROs will issue notices to the 92 lakh electors will continue till 15 October 2026.
BLOs will deliver them door-to-door. Upon receipt of notice, the applicant can provide the necessary documents (as per list mentioned on the backside of the Enumeration Form) during the hearing. ERO will then conduct a hearing after receiving the reply and then dispose of it.
119 EROs and 890 AEROs (Assistant Electoral Registration Officers) are currently working during the notice period. CEO has requested additional strength and has written to the ECI. Over 500 to 1,000 new AEROs will be added, taking the strength to almost 2,000.
The press released further added, “Following the decision, in case any person is aggrieved by the decision of the ERO, they may prefer an appeal to the District Magistrate (District Election Officer) within 15 days of the ERO’s order under Section 24(a) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, read with rule 27 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. If the appellant remains unsatisfied, a second appeal may be preferred before the Chief Electoral Officer within 30 days of the District Magistrate’s (District Election Officer) order, as per Section 24(b) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 read with Rule 27 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.”
Final electoral roll is scheduled to be released on 19 October, 2026.
