Telangana Deputy CM pushes for fast-track completion of Singareni’s green energy projects

Officials were directed to use advanced tech for feasibility studies and to develop a centralised dashboard for real-time monitoring.

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has called for the speedy execution of Singareni Collieries Company Limited’s (SCCL) major renewable energy projects. In a review meeting at Praja Bhavan on Saturday, 29 June, he urged officials to fast-track permissions and begin work on floating solar plants at Mallannasagar and Lower Manair, a 500 MW wind power project across five districts, and a 500 MW pumped storage project at Medipalli.

He also emphasised swift action on the 1,500 MW solar project in Rajasthan in partnership with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (RVUNL), and pushed for cabinet-level discussion on an 800 MW thermal unit. Officials were directed to use advanced tech for feasibility studies and to develop a centralised dashboard for real-time monitoring.

SCCL CMD N Balaram presented plans to generate 7,000 MW through green initiatives, seeking government support for faster clearances. Senior officials from SCCL and the Energy Department attended the session.
