Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been ill for a week, his son and Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao said on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, 26 September.
He has been suffering from viral fever and cough, said KTR, who is also the working president of the BRS.
He said that KCR was being treated at home by a medical team, adding that he was being closely monitored.
KTR also expressed hope that his father would fully recover within a few days.
KTR took to X to post, “CM KCR Garu has been suffering from viral fever and cough for the last one week. He is being treated at home by his medical team and is being monitored closely. As per doctors, he should be able to get back to normalcy in a few days.”

It is the second time that news of KCR being treated for a week has emerged.
In March, he was taken to the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad after complaining of discomfort in his abdomen.
The hospital discovered that the chief minister had developed a stomach ulcer, and CT and endoscopy were conducted.
KCR subsequently gave reporters an update on the status of his health, enumerating the steps doctors had asked him to take in order to remain healthy.
