Earlier this month, the ECI announced an extension of the publication of the final electoral rolls.
The Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Thursday, September 17, ordered a de novo preparation of electoral rolls for the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ Constituencies in the Telangana Legislative Council, ahead of the biennial elections due in March 2027.
The fresh rolls are to be prepared with November 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.
As per the schedule, a public notice will be issued on September 28, with re-publications in newspapers on October 15 and 25.
Applications in Form 18 must be submitted by November 6, with draft rolls published on November 25. Claims and objections can be filed until December 10, and the final rolls will be published on December 30.
Since the rolls are being prepared afresh, all existing voters in these constituencies must submit new applications in the modified Form-18 along with authenticated documents. Merely citing an existing roll entry will not be sufficient.
Applications can be filed online via the CEO’s website or submitted in person or by post to the Electoral Registration Officer concerned.

Separately, Reddy announced measures to ease resolution of notices issued to voters during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Any adult family member can now appear before the Electoral Registration Officer or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer to submit documents on behalf of the household, instead of requiring the specific voter’s presence. The CEO said this has already been implemented in several districts.
Reddy also directed officials to mandatorily collect declaration forms for pending and future Form-6 applications, with October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date. He also stressed that the SIR process should be completed in compliance with the ECI norms.
Earlier this month, the ECI extended the deadline for publishing the final electoral rolls following the SIR to November 9.
The deadline for filing claims and objections to the draft rolls was also extended from September 16 to October 7.
