The Telangana BJP on Friday, 28 April, urged the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director-General, Director-General of Police (DGP), and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to probe the involvement of BRS MLAs’ alleged corruption in flagship schemes of the state government involving public money.
In a letter to the ACB DG, Telangana BJP general secretary G Premendar Reddy said that an English daily newspaper carried a news report with the caption “Corrupt MLAs will be thrown out, KCR warns at plenary – Has list of MLAs extorting up to ₹3 lakh from Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries”.
In the news report, BRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, while addressing the party plenary at Telangana Bhavan on 27 April, made a statement that he had a list of MLAs who were usurping ₹3 lakh out of the ₹10 lakh meant for each from Dalit Bandhu and 2BHK housing scheme beneficiary.

Premendar said that the Telangana government took up the Dalit Bandhu and 2BHK housing schemes as flagship schemes involving thousands of crores of public money to benefit Dalits and the homeless poor.
In his statement, the chief minister said that BRS MLAs’ involvement in the siphoning of money from Dalit Bandhu and 2BHK beneficiaries came as shocking news, and merited a thorough investigation as thousands of crores of public money was involved in these schemes.
The chief minister also stated that he had the list of MLAs who were involved in corruption by extortion.
Thus, it was necessary to issue a notice under Section 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to the chief minister to hand over the list of corrupt MLAs involved in extortion for further investigation into the matter, said Premendar.
“It is a matter of grave concern as the chief minister himself made a statement about the involvement of BRS MLAs in corruption in flagship schemes of the government. We request your good office to look into the matter and take up enquiry at the earliest,” he said.
Premendar Reddy also marked a copy to the DGP and Director of the Enforcement Directorate in New Delhi.
