Pushpa 2 The Rule song removed hours after uploading

Mainstream Telugu blockbusters often have a reputation for not reflecting reality. Ironically reality tends to ape the attitudes and behaviours of their favorite hero.

In one such filmi moment come to life, just two hours after Allu Arjun showed up at the Chikkadpally Police Station on Tuesday, 24 December, the T-Series Telugu channel—official music partners of Pushpa 2: The Rule—released a new song from the film. To add spice to this odd timing, the song is titled “Dammunte Pattukora,” which translates to “Catch Me if You Can.”

While the audio has been viral among the netizens since the release of Pushpa 2, the timing of it being uploaded on the official channel has raised questions.

However, within hours the song has been removed from the channel, and the link now says it is private.

Before the deletion, the 1-minute 30-second YouTube video’s comment section was filled with comments from the actor’s fans applauding the song’s timing.  The song clips were also shared on other social media platforms like X and Instagram.

The song

The entire song, majorly in the actor’s voice, is a remix of one of the actor’s dialogue in the film, where he is mocking Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat (Fahaad Faasil), a cop and the film’s antagonist.

The lyrics are Pushpa challenging Shekhawat to catch him, declaring that he’d leave his “syndicate” if he’s caught. Allu Arjun plays the role of a red sandalwood smuggler in the film.

Allu Arjun is currently facing legal trouble in connection with the fatal 4 December stampede at the Sandhya 70 MM theatre at RTC X roads, which was triggered by his visit to the theatre, where his movie was being screened. A woman was killed and her nine-year-old son has been seriously injured and is currently hospitalised.

While public opinion is split between Allu Arjun and the government, it hasn’t stopped birthing its conspiracy theories.

CM’s show of power?

A recurring theme from people opposite the Congress ideology has been that this is Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s show of power. That is the most vanilla theory.

Others are quick to point to an instance during the film’s success meet when Allu Arjun forgot the chief minister’s name. They believe that this is why the government is harsh, as the Chief Minister’s ego was hurt.

Taking it a step further, another theory makes this an interstate conspiracy theory, much like Pushpa’s syndicate. They trace this back to Andhra Pradesh’s politics and much like the NDA government in the state, blame the problem on Jagan.

They’re guessing that this is because Allu Arjun campaigned for a YSRCP candidate despite his uncle, Pawan Kalyan, being the Janasena Party Supremo.

With so many theories and opinions, the official investigation is still underway. The police and government are steadfast on the moral high horse reiterating “equality before the law.”

Yet, this song is veiled in so much drama. While it could be an innocent promotion for the movie that’s having a successful box office run, the timing is too coincidental.

After all, the song even ends with Pushpa’s line echoing, if I get caught, I’ll just head back to the forest.
