Prime Minister Modi to dedicate to nation development projects worth ₹8,000 crore at Nizamabad on 3 Oct

The prime minister will also flag off the Siddipet - Secunderabad - Siddipet train service, benefiting the local rail commuters in the region.

Prime Minister Modi in Telangana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Nizamabad in Telangana on 3 October — for the second time in as many days. 

At around 3 pm, the prime minister will reach Nizamabad, where he will dedicate projects to the nation and lay foundation stones of various development projects worth around ₹8,000 crore, in important sectors like power, rail, and health. 

In line with his vision of increasing power generation with improved energy efficiency in the country, Modi will dedicate to the nation the first 800 MW Unit of phase-I of the Telangana Super Thermal Power Project of NTPC. 

It will provide low-cost power to Telangana, and provide a boost to the economic development of the state. It will also be one of the most environmentally-compliant power stations in the country.

Boost to rail infrastructure

Telangana’s rail infrastructure will get a boost as the prime minister will launch national rail projects, including the new railway line connecting Manoharabad and Siddipet; and the electrification project between Dharmabad-Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar-Kurnool. 

The 76-km-long Manoharabad-Siddipet rail line will boost the socio-economic development of the region, especially in the districts of Medak and Siddipet. 

The electrification project between Dharmabad-Manoharabad and Mahabubnagar-Kurnool will help improve the average speed of trains, and will lead to environment-friendly rail transport in the region. 

The prime minister will also flag off the Siddipet-Secunderabad-Siddipet train service, benefiting local rail commuters in the region.

Health sector benefits

In an effort will augment health infrastructure in Telangana, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of 20 Critical Care Blocks (CCBs) across the state under the Pradhan Mantri-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. 

These CCBs will be built in the districts Adilabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Jogulamba Gadwal, Hyderabad, Khammam, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Mahabubnagar (Badepally), Mulugu, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Narayanpet, Nirmal, Rajanna Sircilla, RangaReddy (Maheshwaram), Suryapet, Peddapalli, Vikarabad and Warangal (Narsampet). 

These CCBs will augment district-level critical care infrastructure across Telangana benefiting the people of the state.

1 October announcements

In his pre-poll blitz in the state, the prime minister, on 1 October, had announced the setting up of a Turmeric  Board — a long-pending demand in Telangana.

He also laid the foundation stones for several developmental projects and inaugurated other finished structures, which add up to more than ₹13,500 crore via videoconferencing in the Mahabubnagar district.

In addition, the Union government said it would establish a Central Tribal University in Mulugu district at a cost of ₹900 crore, which would be named Samakka Sarakka Central Tribal University.

This is also a long-pending demand of the Telangana government.

The prime minister laid the foundation stone for key road projects that are part of the Nagpur-Vijayawada Economic Corridor. These roads will be built at a total cost of about ₹6,400 crore, said a release.

Modi also inaugurated the newly four-laned 59 km long Suryapet to Khammam section of NH-365BB. Built at a cost of about ₹2,460 crore, it is a part of the Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Corridor and is developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana.

He also launched several rail projects.
