Ahead of his scheduled rally in Telangana’s Mahabubnagar district on Sunday, 1 October, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched an attack on the incumbent BRS administration in the state.

He opined that the citizens of Telangana had grown weary of the lacklustre performance of the BRS government and harbour a similar sense of mistrust towards the Congress party.

“I will be addressing a @BJP4Telangana rally in Mahbubnagar tomorrow, 1st October. The people of Telangana are tired of the lacklustre governance of BRS,” the Prime Minister posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Modi dismissed the Congress party as well, and added that both BRS and Congress were dynastic parties “who have no aim of serving people”.

The people of Telangana will greatly benefit by the projects he was to launch or inaugurate in Mahabubnagar, Modi said.

To lay the foundation stone for key projects

Modi is scheduled to be in Mahabubnagar district at 2.15 PM, where he will be launching or laying the foundation stones of developmental projects valued at over ₹13,500 crore in crucial sectors such as transportation, railways, petroleum, natural gas, and higher education.

Some of these are a part of the Nagpur–Vijayawada Economic Corridor. At the event, the prime minister will also inaugurate a train service via video conferencing.

The projects include the 108-km-long four-lane access-controlled greenfield highway from Warangal to Khammam, and the 90-km-long four-lane access-controlled greenfield highway from Khammam to Vijayawada.

These road projects will be developed at a cost of about ₹6,400 crore. The roads are projected to reduce travel distance between Warangal and Khammam by about 14 km; and between Khammam and Vijayawada by about 27 km.

The prime minister will also lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of the 59-km Suryapet-to-Khammam section of NH-365BB.

Built at a cost of about ₹2,460 crore, the project is a part of Hyderabad–Visakhapatnam Corridor, developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana.

It is also expected to provide better connectivity to Khammam district and the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh.

The Jaklair-Krishna railway line

During the visit, the prime minister will also launch the 37-km Jaklair–Krishna New Railway Line.

Being built at a cost of more than ₹500 crore, the new rail line section is expected to bring areas of the backward district of Narayanpet onto the Railways map for the first time.

He will also flag off, via video conferencing, the inaugural Hyderabad-Raichur-Hyderabad train service running from the Krishna station.

The train service will connect the Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Narayanpet districts in Telangana with the Raichur district in Karnataka.

The service will provide first-time rail connectivity to several new areas in the backward districts of Mahabubnagar and Narayanpet, benefiting students, daily commuters, labourers, and the local handloom industry in the region.

Pipeline projects

In a move to improve logistics efficiency in the country, foundation stones will be laid for important oil and gas pipeline projects. The prime minister will also inaugurate the Hassan-Cherlapalli LPG Pipeline Project.

He will also lay the foundation stone of the Multi- Product Petroleum Pipeline of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) from Krishnapatnam to Hyderabad (Malkapur).

The 425-km-long pipeline will be built at a cost of ₹1,940 crore. The pipeline will provide a safe, faster, efficient and environmentally-friendly mode of transporting petroleum products in the region.

Modi will also inaugurate five new buildings of the University of Hyderabad (UoH). The buildings are the School of Economics, the School of Mathematics & Statistics, the School of Management Studies, Lecture Hall Complex – III, and Sarojini Naidu School of Arts & Communication (Annexe).

The upgradation of the infrastructure of the UoH is a step towards providing improved facilities and amenities to the students and faculty.
