Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a fresh against the Congress and BRS on Friday, 10 May, while addressing the election rallies in Narayanpet in Mahbubnagar district and LB stadium in Hyderabad.
Attacking the Congress, Modi said the grand old party which is in power in Telangana was trying to beat the previous BRS government in looting the people of the state. “The Congress wants to loot in a few months as much the BRS did in its 10 years of rule.”
He further alleged that “Congress has not yet taken any action against the BRS leaders involved in the irregularities in the construction of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS).”
Using the term coined by the BJP, “RR tax”, the prime minister said the Congress has only focused on collecting the “RR tax” since it came to power in the state.
The “RR” in the term refers to Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy. Later, attacking the AIMIM, dubbing them as Razakars—the private army of the Nizams, he said they were another “R”.
Alleging that for both the BRS and the Congress Telangana has become an ATM, he questioned, “In the last 10 years, the nation had progressed but where did lakhs of crores of rupees he had sent to Telangana, go?”
“The money first filled the pockets of the BRS leaders and now those of the Congress,” he said.
Raking the issue of circulation of Amit Shah’s fake video on reservations, Modi said the Congress opened a fake video-making shop.
In the widely circulated video, Amit Shah was seen saying that the BJP would do away with all reservations.
However, in the original video, Shah said that reservations available to Muslims would be transferred to the SCs, STs and OBCs.
Furthering his attack on the national party, the prime minister accused Congress of being anti-Hindu and pandering to the interests of the Muslims.
He alleged that the “INDI Alliance leaders were talking of transferring reservations of all sections to the Muslims which is against the spirit of the Constitution of India.”
Modi reiterated that he was against reservations based on religion, as that is what the Constitution was also saying.

Recalling how the Congress had provided reservations to the Muslims in undivided AP, the prime minister said the grand old party was trying to do it at the national level now.
“Will you let the Congress snatch reservations from SCs, STs and OBCs? That is why you need to remember ‘Vanchit Ka Jo Adhikar hai, Modi Uska Chaukdar hai.’ No one can snatch your rights in Modi’s guardianship,” he said.
At Mahabubnagar, which is Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s constituency, he spoke about the migration of the labourers of the district to other states in search of livelihood and how their lot remained unchanged.
Attacking the chief minister, Modi said, “From Mahabubangar, you have elected the previous chief minister to Lok Sabha and from the same district you have incumbent chief minister A Revanth Reddy but there was no change in the living standards of the people of the district.”
“The Congress has promised to waive farmers’ loans up to ₹2 lakh, but it did not keep its word. What all the Congress delivered was betrayal. Viswasghat, viswaghat,” he said.
Alleging that Congress harboured hatred for Hindus, PM Modi said, “The Congress hates Hindus, Hindu festivals. The leaders who tutored Shehzade (referring to Rahul Gandhi) have also stated that the Ram temple should not have been built in Ayodhya and that celebrating Ram Navami is anti-India.”
“When I went to Ram temple, they said I was anti-national. The Congress wants to make Hindus second-class citizens in their homeland. Do these people want to bring in Aurangzeb’s rule once again? Is this the reason why they are talking about vote jihad?” he asked.
The prime minister also arraigned the Congress for its attempts to divide the country.
“Congress is engaged in dividing the country based on religion. Its real agenda is to appease certain communities for political gain without considering the welfare of the nation,” he said.
Speaking in the local Hyderabadi language, Dakkani, the prime minister said, “Telangana keh raha hai, Congress nakko, BRS nakko, AIMIM nakko, BJP koich vote denge, BJP ko jeetayenge (Telangana was saying No to Congress, No to BRS, No to AIMIM but vote for BJP.)”
“On 4 June, the 140 crore people of the nation are going to give their verdict in favour of the BJP. On that day, people’s will be known. It is India which is going to win and those who are against India and its interests will lose out,” the prime minister said.
He warned people of the dangers of voting for Congress, stating that it would mean endorsing the “claws” of terrorism, its soft approach to racism, and its opposition to the celebration of Indian cultural values, including worshipping Lord Ram.
He emphasized the importance of the idea of India rooted in India’s millennia-old culture, truth, non-violence and the concept of “Vasudaika kutumbam”.
