Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Telangana has been finalised and, as per his schedule, he will visit erstwhile Warangal on 8 July to lay the foundation stone for the railway periodic overhauling unit in Kazipet and a mega textile park in Warangal.

The leaders of the state BJP unit are also planning to organise a public meeting in Warangal with Modi as the chief guest.

In view of the visit, the Hyderabad meeting to be chaired by BJP national president JP Nadda with the party presidents of 11 states has been cancelled.

Sources said that the cadres are curious to hear the prime minister speak following the way he lambasted Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his daughter K Kavitha at the “Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot” event in Bhopal a couple of days ago.

Bandi Sanjay supports Governor

Meanwhile, Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday, 29 June, took strong exception to the remarks made by the state’s Finance Minister T Harish Rao against Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan regarding her comments on the situation of Osmania General Hospital.

He told reporters that the BRS leaders would like to use Governors as rubber stamps, and would not like Governors who are hardworking and sincere.

“Ridiculing the Governor is nothing but humiliating the Indian Constitution,” he said, asking why the Governor should keep silent in spite of seeing corruption in the administration.

As a chief minister, KCR was inaccessible and people were heading to Raj Bhavan to resolve their grievances, he said.

Adding fuel to the fire, Sanjay sought to know whether KCR was the chief minister for Telangana or Maharashtra.

Increased security for Eatala Rajender

Meanwhile, a police team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sandeep Rao visited the house of BJP MLA Eatala Rajender in Shamirpet to assess the threat he was facing and to strengthen security.

The police team examined areas connecting Rajender’s house to enhance security.

The action followed Rajender’s wife Jamuna’s allegations that a conspiracy was being hatched to kill her husband and “supari” had also been given to eliminate him.

After assessing the situation, the DCP is expected to submit a report to Director General of Police Anjani Kumar.
