Major Republic Day-eve reshuffle in Telangana Police as 91 officers get new postings

The state government order issued on 25 January night includes 51 IPS officers who are either transferred or given new postings.

In a late-night reshuffle on Wednesday, 25 January, the state government transferred 91 IPS and non-cadre officers.

There transferred officials include 51 IPS officers. This move comes nearly three weeks after the Telangana government transferred 29 IPS officers.

Earlier, on 31 December, 2022, IPS officer of the 1990-batch Anjani Kumar, who was DG, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and holding additional charge of vigilance & enforcement, took charge as acting state DGP.

Meanwhile, in the latter half of last year, Hyderabad saw a series of transfers in the police department with the transfer of 69 inspectors in July and 45 inspectors in September, to various departments

Major transfers

Karimnagar Commissioner of Police Satyanarayana was transferred and posted as Joint Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda while Rachakonda Joint Commissioner of Police Dr Gajarao Bhupal was transferred and posted as Joint Commissioner of Police (DD), Hyderabad.

Yadadri Zone Deputy Inspector General of Police Rema Rajeshwari was transferred and posted as Commissioner of Police, Ramagundam while Hyderabad City Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-I) Nyalakonda Prakash Reddy was transferred and posted as Director, Enforcement, Vigilance & Disaster Management, GHMC replacing Viswajeet Kampati.

Several officers who were waiting for postings were also given postings.

Abhishek Mohanty was posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic-I, Rachakonda replacing Sunpreet Singh. On transfer, Sunpreet Singh was posted as AIG (L&O), at the DGP office.

Chetna Mylabhutala was posted as Joint Director, Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau, Hyderabad while L Subbarayudu was posted as Commissioner of Police, Karimnagar.

Narayana Reddy was posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shamshabad Zone, Cyberabad replacing Jagadishwar Reddy while DV Srinivasa Rao was posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Medchal Traffic, Cyberabad.

Cyberabad Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Srinivasa Rao was transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Balanagar Zone, Cyberabad replacing G Sundeep.
