Telangana BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday, 3 January, alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was once again attempting to raise the Telangana sentiment to derive political mileage.

Referring to a few leaders from Andhra Pradesh joining the BRS, he noted that it was KCR who made fun of Ulavacharu — a popular dish in Andhra Pradesh.

KCR allegedly went to the extent of saying that only buffaloes would consume it, he said, adding that the BRS chief compared biryani cooked in Andhra Pradesh with dung.

“How can the leaders from Andhra Pradesh join the BRS when he made sweeping remarks against dishes prepared in Andhra Pradesh?” he asked.

Promises, promises

Kumar stated that BRS leaders sent cabs to bring a few leaders from Andhra Pradesh and facilitated their entry into the BRS.

He said that KCR was leaving no stone unturned in appeasing people in Andhra Pradesh, but added that he would not achieve the desired results in his attempts.

Kumar said that there was no proper atmosphere in Telangana to enable several businessmen from Andhra Pradesh to carry out their respective businesses in a hassle-free manner.

He alleged that KCR would forget the people of Andhra Pradesh after utilising their votes for the BRS in the next Lok Sabha elections.

Ready to lead?

Referring to the claims made by the BRS leaders that the Telangana government was supplying 24-hour power to the agriculture sector, he said that most areas in the state were not getting round-the-clock power.

“How can Chandrashekar Rao, who ignored the development of key sectors in the state, develop the country?” he asked.

He further criticised the BRS chief for failing to provide unemployment doles, fee reimbursement to students, and services under the Aarogyasri scheme.

He said that the BJP would be the only alternative to the BRS, and ensure the all-round development of the state after coming to power in the next Assembly elections.
