Fasi Ahmed Ameer, a 35-year-old man from Singareni Colony, was hacked to death in broad daylight on Tuesday, 4 August, over a financial dispute with neighbour, in Saidabad PS limits.
The video of the brutal attack has been circulating on social media, drawing criticism towards the state of law and order in the city.
The accused has been identified as Suman, a moneylender who had lent ₹10,000 to Ameer over two years ago.

Around five days before the murder, an argument over the old debt escalated, with Suman allegedly threatening to kill Ameer.
Police say Ameer had just returned from a work trip to Mumbai on the morning of the attack. His younger brother Yethesham Ahmed was resting at home when a neighbour rushed in to inform the family that Ameer had been stabbed near the church in Singareni colony.
Yethesham said he found Ameer face-down in a pool of blood with severe injuries to his head, neck and hands. They took him to Osmania General Hospital in an auto-rickshaw, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Ameer is survived by his wife Reshma Begum and seven children.
Saidabad police have registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Yakutpura MLA Jaffar Hussain Maraj visited the grieving family at the hospital, saying he had rushed there based on the direction of AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi and Legislative Assembly floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi.
Maraj urged the Telangana government and Hyderabad Police to act against anti-social elements, step up patrolling in the area, and take stronger measures to curb violent crime.
