Navneet Rana was in Telangana, as part of the ongoing Lok Sabha polls campaigning. Speaking at a meeting in Shadnagar on Wednesday, 8 May, Rana addressed the crowd and said: “If you will vote for Congress, you are voting for Pakistan.”

Reasoning her statement, Rana further added, “The way Congress worked for the country was on the instructions of Pakistan, but PM Modi works for the citizens of this country.”

The FIR has been registered by the Cyberabad police under the IPC sections 171(C) c/w 171(f), 171 (g) (making false or incorrect statements to affect the result of an election)and 188 IPC (disobedience to order duly promulgated by a public servant).

The complaint

According to the complaint filed by a government officer on election duty, Navneet Rana’s speech violates the MCC and deceives the voters.

According to the FIR accessed by South First, it is noted that “Pujari Sridhar, BJP party election agent took permission from the returning officer of Shadnagar for BJP corner meeting and rally.”

He along with his team members K Anjaneyulu and videographer P Suresh were conducting their duties at Shadnagar Chowrasta.

The complaint written in Telugu further reads, “During the corner meeting at around 8 pm, BJP special guest Navneeth Kaur gave the speech, ‘Congress ki vote veste Pakistan ki vote vesinate’ (if you vote for Congress, it is like voting for Pakistan.).”

Explaining the delay in filing the complaint, the election officer said, he had informed his higher officials on the same day.

Other statements of Navneet Rana

Navneet Rana on Friday attacking the AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi and Asaduddin Owaisi, said that if the police were momentarily withdrawn for just 15 seconds, the Owaisi brothers would be wondering about their whereabouts.

The statements were made in an apparent reference to the 2013 speech of Akbaruddin Owaisi who had said that if the police were removed for 15 minutes, “We (Muslims) will finish 100 crore Hindus”.

Rana was addressing a meeting seeking support for the saffron party’s Hyderabad candidate Madhavi Latha.

Addressing AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi as bade bhai and chote bhai, she said, “The chote bhai was asking to remove police for 15 minutes in Hyderabad but I will challenge you might be taking fifteen minutes but for us, only 15 seconds is enough to show where did chote and bade came from and where had they gone.”

Terming Latha as a Sherni (lioness), she said, “There should be people to stand alone against the rulers of the Mughal empire and speak about the existence of Hindutva in Hyderabad. If there were no people like Madhavi Latha and BJP, then Hyderabad would become Pakistan. All the Hindus should come together and wake up other Hindus (Jagao Hinduvon ko) this time.”

She further stated that youth should rethink about whom to be chosen for the Hyderabad constituency.

“This is a war to ensure that Hyderabad does not become Pakistan. To ensure that vote for Madhavi Latha and make her win the election,” she added.
