The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out searches in half a dozen places in Old City in Hyderabad on Saturday, 7 January, in connection with a case registered by it earlier.
The CBI sleuths raided the house of a doctor in Azampura. Her husband is an employee of an automobile company that availed a loan from a nationalised bank and allegedly failed to repay it.
Another team raided the house of an automobile businessman in Chanchalguda for allegedly failing to repay the loan availed from a nationalised bank.
The CBI stepped in after the bank shared details of the loan defaulters and it has been carrying out searches since Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the investigating team in the Income Tax (I-T) Department, which completed searches of the properties belonging to Exel Rubber Private Limited, reportedly issued a notice to the director of the company, Anirudh, to appear before them on Monday.
They instructed him to submit property details in a prescribed format.
They carried out searches at the office and other premises belonging to the company in Hyderabad and its suburbs on 4 January in connection with alleged tax violations.
Accompanied by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, separate I-T teams landed up the company’s properties in 40 SUVs and conducted searches.
The teams seized crucial documents and hard disks during the searches to examine them in detail.
The raids were conducted at Bachupally, Chandanagar and Gachibowli, as well as a dozen other places in the city and its suburbs.
One I-T team conducted searches at the company’s corporate office in Gachibowli, along with the premises belonging to the company’s chairman and directors.
The I-T sleuths raided Exel Rubber’s four places each in Bachupally and Sangareddy, half a dozen places in Narsingi and another one of its offices in Madhapur.
The company is into infrastructure, information technology, engineering and healthcare fields.
