Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday, 1 May, warned the BJP to be aware that if it has ED (Enforcement Directorate), CBI, Income Tax (I-T) and police at its disposal, he had the four-crore people of Telangana, standing by him.

He was referring to Delhi police issuing notices to him in the case of the circulation of a doctored video of Union Minister Amit Shah,

Addressing an election rally in Korutla, a part of the Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency, the chief minister said it was not easy to scare him.

“You cannot scare me. I was never afraid of cases. I have the people of Telangana with me. About 50 lakh youths are there with me,” he said.

Warns BJP and Modi

The chief minister said if the prime minister came to Telangana and handed out threats to the chief minister, the people of the state would not take it kindly.

“The Delhi police asked me to appear before them today (1 May). But I want to tell you that if the BJP continues to use strong-arm methods, it will meet the fate that Nizams and Razakars had faced in the past,” he said.

The chief minister said that people had buried the BRS in a 100-metre-deep trench because KCR also behaved like this in the past.

“I respect Modi if he visits the state in his capacity as the prime minister. I will not keep quiet if he tries to hurt the pride of Telangana with Gujarati dominance. I will hit back at him,” he said.

Revanth Reddy said that the BJP was scheming to scrap reservations and that was why it wanted to win more than 400 seats.

“It is planning to change the character of the constitution to rescind reservations. When I questioned its motive, the BJP has turned vengeful. That is why the Delhi police have registered a case against me,” he said.

‘BJP gave only Gadida Guddu’

Using the Telugu idiom Gadida Guddu (donkey’s egg) — which means offering zilch when one seeks liberal assistance — Revanth Reddy wondered whether one should vote for those who gave Telangana Gadida Guddu.

Revanth Reddy said he had expected Narendra Modi to make some announcements regarding the assurances given to Telangana in the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Act,2014, and the Turmeric Board but the latter chose to remain silent.

He said he could not understand what the prime minister meant when he said he was working towards a Congress-mukt (Congress-free) India.

“Does Congress- mukt Bharat mean scrapping reservations?” Revanth Reddy asked.

He said the Prime Minister remained silent on his proposal for funding for the development of the Musi River Front or for the augmentation of drinking water supply to Hyderabad.

He said if the voters of the Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency elect Congress nominee T Jeevan Reddy, he would become the agriculture minister in the INDIA-bloc alliance government.
