BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has announced that the party will reach out and offer financial assistance to the family of a 26-year-old woman who was killed after being hit by an Aston Martin driven by the son of Jana Sena Party (JSP) Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh in Hyderabad.
Slamming the Congress government in Telangana for alleged lapses in the investigation into the case, Rao alleged in a post on X, “The beauty of the Congress Govt in Telangana is it protects NDA leaders’ kith & kin more fiercely than its own people. Unfortunately, while the perpetrators are scot-free, the victim’s family lost its sole breadwinner. BRS party will reach out & will offer financial assistance to the family asap.”

Rao’s announcement came in response to a South First report pointing out lapses in the investigation into the incident, including a delay in filing the chargesheet against the accused.

The police have justified the delay in filing the chargesheet, claiming that the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report has not arrived even after more than 20 days.
According to Telangana High Court advocate Teja Vardhan, who spoke to South First, this delay is unusual.
“The FSL reports take a maximum of seven to ten days to arrive, and police can get it easily. So unless there is a better justification, it is odd that it has not come for 20 days,” he said.
The police have also come under fire for skipping the culpable homicide charge, despite eyewitness accounts suggesting that the car was travelling at speeds of up to 120 kmph on the crowded stretch.
26-year-old Bharati Mukhi was hit by the luxury car driven by Lingamaneni Sanjush outside the Inorbit Mall in Madhapur, where she worked. She was returning after a lunch break when the incident happened on August 16.
Bharati, who hails from Odisha’s Mayurbhanj, was the sole breadwinner of her family and had been working in Hyderabad for over four years.
