BJP will abolish reservation for Muslims if voted to power in Telangana: Union Home Minister Amit Shah

He said the BRS government was hesitating to officially celebrate "Telangana Liberation Day" as it was worried about the AIMIM.

In an attempt to polarise votes keeping in view the next Assembly elections in Telangana, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday, 23 April, said the BJP would abolish reservations to Muslims if it was voted to power in the state.

“The abolition of reservation for Muslims would benefit the BCs, STs and STs in the state,” he said at a massive public meeting organised by the BJP state unit at Chevella in the Ranga Reddy district.

As the BRS symbol “car” was in the hands of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) was implementing AIMIM’s agenda, said the BJP leader.

‘Telangana Liberation Day’

The BRS government was hesitating to celebrate the “Telangana Liberation Day” officially as it is worried about the AIMIM, but the Central government and the BJP would organise it officially on 1 September every year, just like it was conducted last year at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad, said Shah.

He said the huge turnout at the public meeting reflected the countdown to drive out the corrupt BRS government in the state, and that the BJP would form the government in the next elections with the support of the people.

“KCR is dreaming of becoming the prime minister, but he is forgetting that the prime minister’s chair is not vacant. Narendra Modi will once again become the prime minister,” said Shah, stating that in order to witness the full picture one had to first watch the trailer — the BJP winning the Assembly elections in Telangana.

The Union home minister said KCR’s family was using the projects that were taken up by the BRS government as an ATM.

As a result, these projects were affected by scams, he said adding that Chandrashekar Rao changed the name of the TRS party to BRS to cover up his failures during the last nine years.

This grand rally expresses that winning of the BJP with an absolute majority is certain in Telangana in the upcoming Assembly Elections.

The count down begins for the end of corrupt rule of the BRS now.

‘Careers of youth affected’

Referring to the arrest and jail time of Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar in connection with the tenth-class Hindi question paper leak case a few weeks ago, Amit Shah said the BJP leaders and activists would not be cowed down by such actions carried out by the BRS government with the help of police.

Accusing the BRS government of failing to conduct the TSPSC examination properly resulting in the leak of question paper, he said the career of lakhs of unemployed youth were affected due to the scam.

However, KCR failed to respond to the issue to date, he said, demanding Chandrashekar Rao to order a probe by a high court sitting judge into the TSPSC question paper leak case.

He said if the BRS government failed to take necessary action against those who were involved in the scam, adding that the BJP — after getting voted to power in Telangana in the next Assembly elections — would take stern action against the culprits without sparing anyone.

According to Amit Shah, the Centre sanctioned ₹1.2 lakh crore for Telangana compared to the ₹30,000 crore given by the UPA government, before 2014.

‘Centre giving priority to Telangana’

He said that the Centre accorded priority to the state in the construction of highways, granting rail projects, by inaugurating a plant at Ramagundem fertiliser factory and sanctioning a mega textile park to benefit cotton farmers and the expansion of Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) services to other parts of the city suburbs.

The Union home minister said funds released by the Centre were not reaching the actual beneficiaries at the ground level, owing to the negligent attitude of the BRS government, adding that the people realised gimmicks of Chandrashekar Rao.

Bandi Sanjay, who was also present at the meeting, termed Amit Shah a tiger.

He said the tiger came for ‘hunting’ in Telangana to ensure that the BJP wins the next Assembly elections and added that the BJP would dethrone dynasty politics in Telangana.

He promised the youngsters that a job calendar would be released on the first day of every month if the BJP was voted to power in the state and would render justice to the unemployed youth.
