BJP national president JP Nadda, during an address in Telangana on Monday, 29 April, launched a scathing attack on the Opposition parties — particularly Congress and BRS — accusing them of rampant corruption and untrustworthy intentions.

Nadda was addressing election rallies in support of party nominees for Mahabubabad and Khammam, Azmeera Sitaram Naik and Tandra Vinod Rao, respectively.

“The entire nation, including Telangana, has decided to elect the Modi government for a third term,” he said.

“Corruption has been rampant under both the BRS and Congress governments and neither party’s intention is trustworthy,” Nadda said, adding that public property was at risk of being usurped.

During his address, Nadda accused Congress of resorting to posting doctored videos of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on social media platforms to mislead the people.

Drawing a sharp contrast between the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the purported intentions of the opposition coalition, Nadda questioned the credibility of the ‘INDIA Alliance,’ insinuating that it prioritised power over the welfare of the people.

“Modi fights corruption but the INDIA seems focused on protecting the corrupt,” he said.

He labelled the coalition as a consortium of parties known for nepotism and corruption, whose leaders either languish behind bars or roam free on bail.

Highlighting the achievements of the Modi government, Nadda said: “During the UPA regime, corruption cases frequently surfaced, but in the last 10 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there have been no instances of corruption.”

“Modi government has made remarkable efforts for the advancement and progress of tribal communities,” he further added.

Nadda concluded his address by portraying the BJP as the sole beacon of development, possessing the vision and ideas necessary to propel the nation towards progress.
