It is alleged that after the murder, Surjith took weapons, including a billhook, and bloodstained clothes to his aunt’s son Jaibalan’s house and hid them there. Jaibalan is said to have abetted this act.
Surjith and his father Saravanan reportedly disclosed this information during interrogation, leading to Jaibalan’s arrest. All three were taken from the CBCID office to the Government Medical College Hospital for a medical examination and will be produced before the Tirunelveli Mahila Court later on Wednesday.

Her parents, Saravanan and Krishnakumari, both police sub-inspectors, were suspended from service to ensure an impartial and transparent investigation.
In connection with the incident, Surjith was first arrested, followed by his father, Special Sub-Inspector Saravanan. Both were placed in CBCID custody for two days, and their interrogation concludes on Wednesday, 13 August.
