In a significant administrative development, retired IPS officer Shankar Jiwal has resigned from his post as Chairperson of the Tamil Nadu Fire Services Commission.

Along with him, commission members Sathyamoorthy, Namachivayam, and Ikram have also stepped down from their positions.

The resignations come less than a year after the Tamil Nadu government constituted the Fire Services Commission in September last year as part of efforts to strengthen the administration and functioning of the state’s fire and rescue services department.
