Synopsis: The Tamil Nadu Police received a bomb threat targeting the residence of Chief Minister MK Stalin, which turned out to be a hoax.
The Tamil Nadu Police received a bomb threat on Sunday, 27 July, targeting the residence of Chief Minister MK Stalin in Chennai, which later turned out to be a hoax.
In the early hours of Sunday, at around 4.45 am, an unidentified person called the police control room claiming that a bomb had been planted at the chief minister’s residence on Chittaranjan Road.
The Thenampet police rushed to the spot immediately, along with a bomb detection squad and sniffer dogs, to conduct a thorough search of the premises. The investigation revealed that the threat was a hoax.
The Thenampet police are currently tracing the caller based on the mobile number used to make the threat. More details are awaited.
