Fresh round of IAS officer transfers in Tamil Nadu: Health and social welfare departments affected

Synopsis: According to a Government Order issued by the Public (Special-A) Department, Darez Ahamed, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of GUIDANCE, has been transferred and posted as Secretary to the Government, Health and Family Welfare Department, replacing P. Senthilkumar, who was already transferred. Anu George, formerly Secretary III to the then Chief Minister, has been posted as Secretary to Government, Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department, replacing N. Subbaiyan.

The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday, 13 May, announced another round of fresh round of IAS officer transfers and postings across key departments such as Health and Family Welfare, Animal Husbandry, Social Welfare and Women Empowerment, after Tuesday’s transfers that affected departments, including Finance, Revenue Administration, Tourism and TASMAC.

According to a Government Order issued by the Public (Special-A) Department, Darez Ahamed, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of GUIDANCE, has been transferred and posted as Secretary to the Government, Health and Family Welfare Department, replacing P. Senthilkumar, who was already transferred.

Anu George, formerly Secretary III to the then Chief Minister, has been posted as Secretary to Government, Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department, replacing N. Subbaiyan.

Mariam Pallavi Baldev, special secretary to the government, Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce Department, has been transferred and posted as secretary to the government, Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department, replacing S. Madumathi, who had been holding additional charge.

The government also placed the services of T. Udhayachandran at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation Limited.

Similarly, Kumar Jayant has been placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited.

Earlier transfers

On Tuesday, the Tamil Nadu government had announced IAS officer transfers and postings affecting several key departments, which include:

N. Muruganandam, who has returned from leave, has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management. He replaces P. Amudha, who had been holding additional charge of the post.

M. A. Siddique, who was serving as Additional Chief Secretary and Managing Director of Chennai Metro Rail Limited, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Finance Department. He succeeds T. Udhayachandran.

S. Swarna, who had been serving as Principal Secretary and State Project Director of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA). She has now been appointed as Principal Secretary to Government, Tourism, Culture and Religious Endowments Department. She replaces K. Manivasan, who had been holding additional charge.

Further K. Nanthakumar, IAS, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC), replacing T. Christuraj, IAS. He was previously serving as Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
